I wanted to write(actually write off) something about the fucking Octopus fuss, and I found this place to be the best one to express myself.I genuinely feel that this is what in my mind today.
Firstly I wonder about the very educated and the very developed society which can make so much fuss about 'an Octopus making predictions' or other creature which are made to (sit on)/ pick a team's flag.Football is a game and we all can go crazy about anything.But can we go crazy to such an extent that we overlook the rules of simple probability.Just 2 teams, and choosing one of them-this simple mathematics is unknown to that ignorant creature.But why do we make the creature do the act?If one does, why does the insane media makes it reach us.Even if it reaches us, why the fuck we do give it a damn shit !??
Can't we just overlook such a fuss and just not talk about it.There are hundreds of other grave issues in this world which need attention.So why the Octopus or any other creature?Is it because this has not been proven wrong or we got an excuse to get some fun out of it?No wonder media makes it memorable in the coming years by tagging it to the world cup 2010!
What a SUPERSTITION in a well educated and civilised society?
